Anxiety, Exhaustion and Masking: Supporting Neurodivergent Girls

Time & Location

23 Feb 2026, 19:00 – 20:30

Online workshop

About the event

Many neurodivergent girls go unnoticed at school because they learn to mask: to hide their struggles, copy the behaviour of their peers and push through discomfort. While this helps them fit in, it can come at a significant emotional cost. Over time, masking can lead to burnout and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), affecting both their well-being and their attendance.

During the workshop, we will explore:

● How girls learn to mask

● How masking can contribute to anxiety, burnout and EBSA

● Why “unmasking” isn’t the whole answer

● What helps girls feel safe and confident to be themselves
